West Coast College

Before 1999 West Coast College consisted of several small satellites, which were then merged and officially declared as an FET College in 2003.

West Coast College was the last FET College to be formed in the Western Cape. Unlike other colleges that were formed around the hub of an existing technical college, its systems had to be established from scratch and today the college consists of five campuses.

In the first year of NC(V) implementation in 2007, West Coast College managed to register more students than the required target of 622 and managed to implement all the required programmes. West Coast College is now one of the biggest colleges in terms of the NC(V) intake.

The college has continued to expand its courses and total student numbers had grown to 8 450 in 2013.

As from January 2014 FET Colleges are known as TVET Colleges, which stands for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
