ABOUT ACCA South Africa


Who we are


Established in 1904, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the world’s largest accountancy body with 162 000 members and 426 000 students in 173 countries. In 1913 the South African branch was opened in Johannesburg– the first branch outside of the UK.

Our qualifications


The ACCA qualification is an alternative, but equivalent route to the traditional academic route into the accountancy profession. This route allows new entrants from matriculant-level and well-seasoned professionals to obtain business-relevant, internationally recognised accounting qualifications, which embrace global best practice.


ACCA SA has accredited the B Com degrees of 14 universities and 13 private higher education institutions in South Africa.  Further to that the qualifications of 12 professional institutes has been assessed for exemption purposes.  To access a comprehensive list click on: http://bit.ly/12QnQMi.  Students from accredited institutions receive up to 9 exemptions and are only required to complete five papers for the ACCA Professional qualification.


A number of delivery options are available, including, self-paced learning, self-study, and part-time classes, with various entry and exit points.
