Earlier this year, CUT entered into a multi-million rand skills development agreement with Northern Cape Urban FET College and I J Energy and Technologies (PTY) LTD where youth will be developed and trained on Solar PV Installation short course, a skill that will enable them to build capacity and contribute positively to the challenges faced by their communities.
A number of Northern Cape youths are already trained and certified by CUT. During the week of 6 to 10 October 2014, 65 other leaners received a similar training from the Department of Electrical Engineering. This is one of the projects, which stems from CUT partnership with NC FET and Sol Plaatjie Municipality.
