Portability and Responsiveness of NC(V):

Students who complete NC(V) Level 4 have many opportunities available to them:
- Enhance chances to enter into Learnership / Apprenticeships
- Gaining access to Higher Education Institutions
- Improved employment possibilities
- Job exposure for NC (V) Students.

Curriculum

(3 Fundamental and 4 Vocational (core) subjects.

Each NQF Level and NC(V) qualification has seven subjects per level.

Compulsory Fundamental Subjects

These Fundamental subjects form the basis on which the four vocation subjects are built.

The 4 Vocational / Core Subjects

Vocational subjects are also compulsory and are the subjects related to the specific vocation/programme/career or subfield chosen i.e. Fitting and Turning; Marketing etc.

Pass Requirements:

In order to obtain the NC(V) qualification at a particular NQF Level and to progress to the next NQF Level you must pass all 7 subjects.

Please note that for an NC(V) student to receive the complete subject results for fundamental subjects the marks of two components are compulsory:
- ICASS (internal continuous assessment) and the examination mark.

To be resulted for vocational subjects the marks of three components are compulsory:
- ICASS (Internal Continuos Assessment)
- ISAT (Intergrated Summative Assessment Task)

Examination

If one or more of the 3 components is not fulfilled, the subject will receive an incomplete subject result.

The submission for ICAS in NC(V) subject are as follows:

All vocational Subjects: 50%
Life Orientation and first Additional language: 40%
Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy: 30%

Programmes with programme specific admission requirements for the College and Campuses where offered:

Engineering Studies:  (Should have passed Mathematics and Science)
Civil Engineering & Building Construction: (Masonry, Plumbing, Carpentry and Roof work)
Mamelodi & Soshanguve North Engineering & Related Design: (Automotive Repair and Maintenance, Fitting & Turning, Fabrication) Temba only
Information Technology & Computer Science: Mamelodi only.

BUSINESS STUDIES:

Marketing: (Commerce & Human Science Stream) Pretoria only
Generic Management: (Commerce & must have  passed Accounting) Pretoria only
Finance Economics & Accounting: (Mathematical and Accounting Background) Pretoria & Soshanguve South
Office Administration: (1 Commercial Subject) Mamelodi & Soshanguve South.

UTILITY AND SOCIAL STUDIES:

Safety in Society: ( Commerce & Human Science Stream) Temba only
Hospitality: (English at least C- symbol) Pretoria only
Tourism: (Tourism, HSS, English at least C-Symbol) Pretoria only
