This programme is well suited to those persons who have an interest in the design and operation of heavy machinery, as well as production and manufacturing engineering. Mechanical engineering technologists could also be involved with steam plants at power stations, vulcanising plants, pump stations at irrigation schemes, mining machinery and ore crushers. Manufacturing and production processes (also those which include the food or textile industries), as well as planning, maintenance and optimisation of processes are further facets of this study field.
