The primary aim of education and training in Early Childhood Development is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and values that are brought about by meaningful involvement and which will be to the advantage of the community, while forming a basis for further study in higher education and training and enabling students to be productive and responsible in an Early Childhood Development environment.

Careers: Grade R practitioners, nursery school and crèche staff, day-care mothers, play school assistants, start own business, au pair locally, nationally or internationally, aftercare at schools and private companies with nursery school facilities.
