The course equips graduates with the skills to draw up strategic development plans, identify and assess the impact of tourism in their region, assist in the conservation of tourism resources, identify global trends in the key sectors, evaluate the implications for South Africa, and to make proposals for the enhancement of tourism. A National Diploma in Tourism Management (or an equivalent tourism qualification) is required for admission.
