This qualification is highly regarded internationally and remains the most sought-after undergraduate training if you aim to become a chartered accountant one day. As a chartered accountant you will be able to audit companies’ books, a work that enjoys statutory protection, and you will also be in demand for other positions (e.g. as financial manager, management accountant or taxation expert). ‘Statutory protection’ means there is a law that says companies’ books must be audited and that only a chartered accountant may do so.
