Let’s face it, the world of paper and pencil are over. Technology has advanced so fast in recent years that it’s hard to keep up with. These advances make life easier in many ways. They can also be extremely helpful to college students. One promising new advancement that has risen in popularity over the past few years is the cloud. This little bit of technology can prove useful to the tech-savvy college student in many ways.
Worry-Free
Using the cloud can make your life more worry-free. Gone are the days of constantly backing up your computer; everything can be easily stored on any cloud site. No longer do you have to load up your school files on a thumb-drive to transfer them to another computer. Just put them in the cloud, and you can access them from anywhere you have Internet. Forgot to print your school paper at home? If it’s on the cloud, it’s as simple as going to the library, getting online, and printing it there. Storing your school files in the cloud can greatly simplify your life, leaving you more time to enjoy college life.
Taking Notes
There are many cloud services specifically designed for holding your notes. One great service is called Evernote. Taking notes on a computer has many advantages: you can type faster than you write, information can easily be reorganized later, and you can store your notes on the cloud. With your notes on the cloud, you can have easy access to them from almost anywhere.
Although taking notes on the computer is great, sometimes it just can’t beat pencil and paper. But how can you have hand-written notes backed up in the cloud? Well, if you have a smartphone, it’s easier than ever. There are many apps that let you take pictures of your documents. The Evernote mobile app has a new feature making it easy to capture your documents and will send it right to the cloud for you. How easy is that?
Mobile Cloud
One great thing about the cloud is that it can be easily used from a smartphone. Most cloud services offer great apps, most of which (most likely all) are free. All your cloud documents become easily accessible, even without a computer nearby. Take a quick peek at your notes anytime just by pulling out your phone. Make a change to them, and they will automatically be changed on your laptop, as well.
Team Projects
The cloud can be a great place to store your documents for your team projects. Many cloud services offer sharing features, so you and your teammates can work together. Google docs can be very helpful if you are working on a paper with multiple people. Another useful option is using the Groups feature of CX. Invite your team to a group, where you guys can upload files and chat with each other.
The cloud offers many ways for you to be more productive in school. College can be difficult, but using the cloud to hold all your documents and collaborate on them together can make things a lot easier for you.
