This programme is the first step in the training of actuaries. Actuaries are independent professionals who have been described as experts in the analysis and modelling of situations involving financial risk and contingent events. They are capable of assessing the risks involved and communicating what the results mean in financial terms. Their work directly involves the management of assets and liabilities (such as investments and loans), and of the associated risks.
