An unforgettable and comprehensive Fashion Design programme can be studied at the DSSA. The programme prepares students for immediate employment or other further studies within the fashion industry.

Our philosophy is to develop the innate creativity of our students so that they may gain personal satisfaction and confidence whilst enhancing their business, research and academic skills at the same time.

The three-year full time Fashion Design qualification is specifically designed to develop a breadth of understanding of the entire fashion industry and to provide a broad foundation for students from which they can determine which branch of the industry their personal talents are most suited to.

Students will be exposed to both theoretical and practical subjects over their three years of studies and classes will cover the use of traditional methods, sophisticated machines and computer aided programs. Each student is furthermore given guidance in developing a personal portfolio for presentation to potential employers.

The programme has a strong relevance for Southern Africa and yet it is also designed to meet international needs and standards.
