Easy work for easy money… Impossible right?
Especially when one of the greatest challenges our country faces is employment.
Well, believe it or not, it’s not a hoax! Making extra money in South Africa has never been easier.  Launched on Monday 11 August, M4JAM is an innovative and exciting platform that empowers thousands of people across the country to earn cash using their mobile phones.
Using their WeChat platform, M4JAM are taking “big jobs from reputable companies” and breaking them down into smaller, simpler ones, known as micro jobs. Some of the kinds of tasks include stock counts or site surveys.
So, for example, you could be out shopping for groceries and complete a stock count of how many bottles of milk there are.
“Jobbers” – as you’ll be called – complete these micro jobs using their mobile phones in exchange for cash.
The compensation is paid via M4JAM and MTN Mobile Money where you can earn between R15 and R30 per job. Then, head over to a Pick ‘n Pay or Boxer store to receive your cash and pay just R4.00 for the transaction.
Some of the brands already registered with M4JAM include:

  • TomTom
  • 1Life
  • Telesure
  • Here Maps
  • Telesure’s Hippo, 1Life Direct and Jenus Health
  • MyLawyer

These brands had to make available at least 1000 jobs in order to be registered.
So, on its launch day, M4JAM already has 100 000 micro jobs listed – impressive to say the least! And it’s not all serious work – there are also 20 000 “fun jobs” where you, the jobber, can carry out simple tasks and earn R15.00 with each completion.
Share it on social media and you could earn an extra R5.00. M4JAM offers a win-win situation to certainly the jobber but the brands too. Companies will save on having to hire services whilst also getting to interact with the public.
Those pesky surveys that cost a fortune to complete could be carried out by someone on the ground, with an existing relationship to the community. It’s low-cost, low-risk and empowers both the brand and the jobber.
