COURSE: B TOURISM (TOURISM STUDIES)

The B.Tourism with a focus on Tourism Studies is a three-year degree designed to produce graduates with the skills that are required in the Tourism Industry in particular. The programme consists of 384 credits obtainable after completing a total of 24 foundation, core and elective semester modules. Students are not only equipped with the skills to enter the job market, but are also prepared for self-employment, consultancy and business leadership in tourism and other related fields. Students are geared towards becoming competent tourism facilitators and managers with the knowledge of principles and procedures that are relevant to tourism management and development. At the end of the programme students are expected to demonstrate the ability to make a range of creative tourism related options and make sound decisions. Prospective students
will be required to undergo internship which is a practical component of the programme for a period not less than six (6) months with a reputable recreation/tourism organization.
