LOERIES COME TO NMMU TOMORROW
PORT Elizabeth residents will get a chance once again to view the best creative work in South Africa when the Loeries Exhibition opens at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University on Tuesday (6 August).
In 2011, NMMU’s Lubabalo Mtati took the Loeries by storm when he won two student Gold Awards. Mtati is now enjoying a successful career in advertising.
The Loeries Exhibition travels throughout the country depicting innovative campaigns for winning brands across an array of disciplines, including architecture, publication design, PR communication, live events, TV, print, digital and more. This year the exhibition is starting in Port Elizabeth and ends on 14 August.
“We are honoured to host the Loeries Exhibition again this year. The creative economy is vital for job creation, and the work on display will inspire young people who are thinking of pursuing a career in the creative field,” says Inge Economous, graphic design lecturer at NMMU.
“Creativity can transform lives. We saw that with Lubabalo.”
From NMMU, the exhibition will head for the V&A Waterfront.
The exhibition is at NMMU’s Art and Design building on North Campus and runs from 9am to 4pm daily.
