CTI Education Group (CTI) is a registered, private higher education institution in South Africa. In 2006, CTI and the Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI) formed a partnership. Today the group has CTI and MGI campuses across South Africa catering for both full-time and part-time students within the fields of Information Technology, Commerce, Creative Arts & Communication, Psychology & Counselling and Law.

CTI is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training and accredited by the Council on Higher Education in South Africa. CTI’s Information Systems qualifications are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (South Africa) and registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) through the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). CTI’s degrees are accredited and registered by the Council on Higher Education in South Africa and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) respectively.

In 2011, Pearson Education, the world’s largest education organisation, acquired a 75% stake in CTI. Pearson seeks to serve the higher education market by providing learning materials, assessments, teachers and other educational solutions and tools. Pearson’s strong brand, educational resources and global reach complements CTI’s strengths and will result in a transformation of the higher education landscape in southern Africa.

Through its partnerships and affiliations with the Midrand Graduate Institute (MGI) and UNISA, CTI offers and supports a wide variety of international and national career qualifications, ranging from Information Technology and Business to Accounting, Marketing, Management, Graphic Design, Psychology, Tourism and Law. Qualifications offered and supported through CTI and MGI range across four faculties:

  • the Information Technology Faculty;
  • the Commerce Faculty;
  • the Creative Arts & Communication Faculty; and
  • the Law & Social Sciences Faculty.

Upon graduation, CTI graduates have access to a dedicated and highly successful employment placement assistance service. The partnership between the placement service and CTI offers graduates a unique advantage to entering the employment market.

CTI’s sole objective remains the preparation of its graduates for a successful future. Since CTI’s inception in 1979, many of its graduates have excelled in their chosen career fields and currently hold senior positions.
